A word from Chris, the 'Maleficent' costume creator:
The idea originated because i was thinking of a costume i can use to go along with my daughters costume. i thought maleficent and princess aurora would be perfect!
I made the Head-piece of the costume by blowing up a balloon and using newspaper to paper mache the balloon with about 4 layers of cut up newspaper. it took two days for that to dry. during that time i cut cardboard to make the horns. the horns started out 2-d but after gluing cardboard around the 2-d model i was able to make round horns. i later duct taped the horns to the paper mache head piece and then used electrical tape to make the head-piece the appropriate color and look. i also used alligator embossed cloth for part of the head piece and neck of the costume. the dress was an old dress from a thrift store. ill say all together the costume cost $15. the costume is a collar piece with my daughter that was dressed as princess aurora (sleeping beauty)
